Chiropractic Adjustments

Chiropractic is an alternative medical therapy that seeks to correct misalignment or lack of motion of a bone, this being known as a subluxation, in the spine by applying a controlled amount of force to a bone that is stuck, and thus, restoring motion to it’s surrounding joints. Subluxations can lead to pain in the area, as a result of nerve compression and muscle strain. The nerve compression can also result in the interference of feedback from the body to the brain, or input from the brain to the rest of the body. For this reason, chiropractic adjustments can be useful in treating more ailments than just pain, these including but not limited to chronic ear infections, incontinence, and chronic anal gland problems. A chiropractic exam/evaluation can be done to determine if any subluxations are present, and then necessary adjustments can be performed. If you have any questions or think your pet may benefit from this service please give us a call.

Therapeutic Laser

CLCVC has a Cold Therapy Laser which can be used to treat a variety of acute and chronic issues in a noninvasive manner. Laser Therapy works through a process known as Photobiostimulation. Lasers affect tissue because the photons delivered to the cells and tissue triggers biologic changes and biochemical reactions. Photons are absorbed by cytochromes within the cell mitochondria and at the cell membrane resulting in:

  • Oxygen production
  • Stimulation of ATP production
  • Increase in DNA and RNA synthesis
  • Stimulates cellular metabolism and cell growth
  • Enhanced collagen synthesis
  • Accelerates tissue repair
  • Analgesia through the release of Endorphins and enkephalins
  • Reduces inflammation
  • Promotes wound healing
  • Increases blood flow at injury site
  • Improves bone and cartilage health

Indications for Laser Therapy
